In your whole time here in Deviant Art, did you see any wallpaper that was created by traditional media before scanning it into the computer for minor editing? Because I need help in finalizing my draft for this coming community week in projecteducate, and I need help from the wallpaper experts. :la:

It's difficult to tell sometimes if a piece has been made traditionally or not XD And with the sizes of wallpapers etc. it's often difficult to make a good looking wallpaper traditionally... you could end up with a big white area which you try and cover with a solid colour, or feather effect (see the below deviations for an example of what I mean).

I would recommend contacting Raindropmemory to confirm whether they HAVE been made traditionally & then scanned in, but they look like they've followed this process.

There's also the below piece by Hellobaby, which he made with watercolour.

Happy Birthday 8th DA-Textless by Hellobaby

These are the only ones I've come across though... Like I said above, I think it's difficult to create a wallpaper with a pen & paper :) I've only looked through the Wallpaper gallery for these though... there may be some wallpaper sized deviations in Traditional Art... but then there's the issue of whether the artist wants there work used as a wallpaper or not...

Good luck with your article though!! :D I can't wait to see it! :squee:

I also tried making one, though I measured the length and width and compared them to see if they match the wallpaper ratios, then edited it a little bit to match the size. But the results were bad because of my scanner. ^^; And yes it is hard to tell if it was made traditionally or digitally because of the watercolor brushes.

I love the suggestions you have given me! I'll use them for the feature at the end of my article. Also, your opinion on how traditional wallpapers might end up like is helpful! I'll add it. :la:

And thank you for wishing me good luck! :aww:

That's another good point! A good scanner is needed to make it a really good wallpaper :D The piece could be incredible before scanning, but then awful afterwards if the quality's not good, or you're getting shadows from the scanner.

Be sure to link me to the article when it's finished!
